Treasure Coast Archeological Society Meeting
June 2, 2010.
The
next meeting is on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Riverside Park.
Marty
Hufnagel will bring doughnuts, Anne Pacowski will make the coffee for August,
and Bob Mellor will bring the drinks to the July meeting. If you want coffee
you'll need to bring your own.
The
May meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Richard Hart
The
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Richard Hart
The

Mary
McGee gave a treasurers report this month. She said there will be $2000.00 in
the account after she pays for the coins for next year, the library and the
charities.

Attention:
The July Meeting will not be held at the library. We will have the
meeting at Riverside Park, on US 1 & 512 at 7:30 pm on the 7th of July. The
library is being use for a children’s summer program.
On
Saturday, May 8 we held our beach hunt at Treasure Shores. About 1000 pennies
and silver coins (including a Silver Dollar) & old coins were planted. The
silver dollar was found by Ryan. Prizes were also given for specific coins 1 Ace
250 for a shielded nickel won by a new member Mike Holveck, 1 canvas accessory
bag for a flying eagle and 1 leather accessory bag for a V nickel. Frank Hanson
found the most pennies (166). Richard bought chicken, and everyone’s covered
dishes were great. We had Mexican lasagna, salads, fruit and desserts. Thank you
all for bringing the nice assortment of foods.
Jan King was awarded a certificate for her Find of the Month in May which was
for jewelry she found.

Richard
displayed a new box that will be used for the next Benefit Hunt 2011 and
explained that we’ll also be using it to conceal the prizes for a surprise,
progressive raffle held by Mitch.
Mitch
gave us an update on Ray. Since then the former President of the Orlando Club
has passed away. He will be missed.
Richard
announced a new member to the club. Daniel and Amy had an eight pound baby girl
on June 1st.
