Treasure Coast Archeological Society Meeting

April 7, 2010

 

The next meeting is on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 .

 

Marty Hufnagel will bring doughnuts, Anne Pacowski will make the coffee, and Dale and Kira Thesenvitz will bring the drinks to the May meeting..

 

The April meeting was called to order at 7:50 p.m. by Richard Hart, Sr., President of TCAS.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Richard Hart, II.

 

The minutes can be read on the club web site which is www.tcas.us.

 

Mary McGee gave the Treasurer’s report.  We have $5,430.10 in the checking account.  Frank Rothery donated $90 to the club.

Member info: This month the following persons renewed their TCAS membership for 2010.

Richard Hart asked that there be a meeting of officers and board members this month.  Wednesday, April 14th at 7:00 p.m. is the date and time decided upon.  They will meet at Marty Hufnagel’s home.  Donna Rothery was asked to remind all officers and board members of the meeting.

 

Daniel Hart asked for donations for the American Cancer Society’s  Relay for Life.  TCAS will match whatever the individual members give.  $185 was given to the American Cancer Society.

 

Richard said that he and Joan have been exploring some new things.  First they went to the gold mine in Dalonaga , GA.

 

 Second they found Pine Level, FL which is now a ghost town.  They found the gravesites of Joan’s great great-grandfathers and grandmother.  Pine Level once was the county seat in Manatee County .  It is close to the Peace River .

 

Tom Burkett was awarded a certificate for his Find of the Month in March for the gold ring he found.

 

A group picture was taken to be put on the club’s web page.

 

Frank Rothery introduced Dan Wagner as our guest speaker.  Dan Wagner is involved with the Mother Ocean Foundation.
